Before your first visit, we'll send you instructions for parking and where we'll greet you.
Kyle and Trent both see clients online throughout Utah. Your email appointment reminder includes a link to our HIPAA-compliant virtual room.
Online and in-person therapy are both effective.
Send us a message to schedule a free consultation. We'll contact you within 24 hours, often much sooner, to set up an initial call.
After that call, we'll send you the intake paperwork and schedule your first appointment as soon as possible.
On this call, we take the time to understand how we can help and explore what working together looks like.
We'll answer your questions to make sure you feel understood, and we'll set the stage for a successful start to therapy.
We focus on providing quality service, not watching the clock. Sessions are typically 45 to 50 minutes.
For couples' sessions or deep trauma work, we sometimes schedule 90-minute or longer sessions to make sure there's time to do the work.
We're not in-network with any insurance providers.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we'll provide a superbill that you submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
We require 48 business hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. For non-emergency cancellations with less notice, we charge the full session fee.
We also get that life happens. The most important part is to communicate what's happening.
We care about our clients.
We work with individuals, couples, and families throughout Utah.
Our services include individual, couples, and family therapy, couples intensives, and trauma therapy, including betrayal trauma, relationship trauma, and religious trauma.

Impactful Counseling is a sex-positive therapy practice. Our focus is on assuring safety, honoring your values, and helping you create the meaningful change you need to live the life and have the relationship of your dreams.
Yes. We're allies, and we've completed Safe Zone training and continuing education.
Our therapists are experienced in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families.
We have found that when clients ask us this or similar questions, they're often asking, "Can you understand me?" Most often the answer to that question is yes. Typically we don't share what our beliefs are or are not. We do take the time to understand our clients, including their worldview, beliefs, values, strengths, and challenges.
We have worked with clients from all over the world of varying religious, ethnic, racial, spiritual, sexual, and cultural backgrounds. We focus on laying the foundation for deep therapeutic work by providing a safe environment, building trust, and fostering a shared understanding where you are seen and heard.
While our approach is clinical, we provide space for what matters to you.
Whether you're struggling personally or in your relationships, there are a lot of online gurus and generic advice out there. You are uniquely you. If generic advice worked, we'd encourage you to read a book instead of starting therapy.
Impactful Counseling is rooted in what actually works. We take the time to assess the biological, neurological, learned behavioral, personality, trauma, contextual, and environmental factors behind what you're facing.
From there, we look beneath the surface to address root issues. Our approach is grounded in evidence- and research-based processes and interventions.
Our team is deeply involved in the mental health field. We build training programs, publish research, write books, develop tools, and stay connected to therapeutic communities that specialize in relationship- and trauma-based therapy.
We're dedicated to actual change. If we're not the right therapist for you, we'll let you know and help you find the best therapeutic fit.
