Couples Intensives

Make the Hard Conversation Go Somewhere
The two of you mean it when you promise this one won't turn into a fight. So you sit down on purpose to talk it through.
Then someone gets defensive. Someone shuts down. One of you pushes harder while the other pulls away. Before you know it you're having the same argument you've had a hundred times before.
You love each other, but you're exhausted. You want to feel close, and getting there seems impossibly difficult.
Get the Time This Actually Takes
If you've done couples therapy, you know the other version of this. You're finally getting somewhere, and then it's time to wrap up. The line we hear most at that point is, "What?! Are our 50 minutes up already?"
A Couples Intensive gives you both extended, dedicated time. You get to slow down, go deeper, and practice change while you're together in the room.

Build a Response You Can Reach For
During the intensive we work inside the cycle you get caught in, exploring what sits underneath it and staying with the difficult moments while you're both there. You'll slow down, try something new, experience how it feels, and try again.
That repetition is what builds a different response, because it happens while the hurt and anger are still right there with you. Each pass brings it closer to hand.
Before your intensive you'll complete a more in-depth assessment of your relationship, your experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals. We'll use what we learn to build a plan, so we can start on the work itself rather than spending our time gathering background.
Start before Things Fall Apart
You don't have to be on the brink of divorce to benefit from an intensive, and you don't have to wait for a crisis to invest in your relationship. An intensive works when you're both willing to show up, get curious, and take responsibility for your part. It's a good fit if:
- Weekly couples therapy helped you name what happens between you, and you want the time to practice doing it differently.
- You keep having the same arguments despite knowing what you're supposed to do differently.
- Your schedules make consistent weekly appointments difficult.
- You want dedicated time for your relationship without the usual interruptions of everyday life.
Catch It Sooner the Next Time
The point of all that practice is the next time this starts at home. One of you catches it early and says what's really going on. The other one doesn't shut down. The evening doesn't get taken from you.
An intensive can create meaningful momentum, and lasting change usually asks for continued practice afterward. It isn't a shortcut, and before we finish we'll talk through next steps and follow-up care.
